Originally established in 1851 by the Nance family, the historic Nance Farmstead in DeSoto underwent a comprehensive historic rehabilitation and restoration led by JRJ Construction in collaboration with Booziotis & Company Architects. The project focused on preserving the authenticity and historical character of the property while upgrading the site to better serve visitors and community programming.

Restoration efforts included extensive repairs to the exterior porches, siding, doors, and historic windows, along with chimney restoration and structural rehabilitation work throughout the property. The project also incorporated ADA accessibility improvements, upgraded electrical and HVAC systems, and construction of a new restroom and visitor area designed to complement the historic architecture of the site. The result is a thoughtfully restored landmark that preserves the legacy of the original homestead while providing a functional and accessible environment for public use and historical education.
